ByBedtime is a helpful early warning layer, not a system of record. Using it means agreeing to a few honest ground rules. The most important concerns what it can and can't promise.
- What the service is. ByBedtime watches the school assignments your school's system already lets you see, and tells you what needs attention and what changed. It's a convenience layer that saves you the nightly checking.
-
What it is not. It is not affiliated with any district or learning
platform, and it is not the official gradebook. Districts may keep official grades
in a separate system, and teachers post on their own schedules. Assignment data can be
hidden, delayed, incomplete, or may not be authoritative.
Never make an academic decision based solely on ByBedtime. When it matters, confirm with the school.
- Honesty about freshness. We show you when data was last verified, and we visibly degrade when we can't verify it. If our checks fail, we say so. We will never present stale data as current, or silence as an "all clear."
- Your responsibilities. You confirm you're the parent or guardian with authorized observer access; you create and can revoke your own access key; and you won't share your account or use the service in a way that breaks your district's acceptable-use rules.
- Our access is read-only. We never submit, change, message, grade, or write anything to your school's systems. We look and we report. That's the entire scope.
- Billing. A 14-day free trial begins with your first successful school-data sync, not when you create an account. No card is required for the trial, and paid service starts only when you explicitly check out. Cancel any time. If the service is not a fit, contact us within seven days of your first charge for a refund. Our payment processor handles your card details; we do not store them.
- Leaving. You can leave and delete everything at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or attempt to access data they aren't authorized to see.
- Limits of liability. ByBedtime is provided to help you stay informed, not as a guarantee of any academic outcome. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited. We will always be straight with you about what went wrong when something does.
